Welcome to Spring, the month of September and our focus for the month is “Savasana.” It is also Father's Day this weekend - Happy Father's Day to all our Yogi Dads. Spring is a magical time, nature awakens refreshed and comes to life from the slumber and retreat of Winter. This same magic happens for the body and mind with Savasana ('corpse pose'). Life is busy and there are so many restrictions on our time, Yogis believe that time spent in Savasana at the end of each practice is the only way to put an end to the constant rush. Otherwise we get stuck on the relentless treadmill of busy'ness where sometimes even the things we enjoy become a chore. This month's blog “The Treasures of Savasana” by Rach, highlights the benefits of this wonderful asana (pose) - there is so much more to it than just laying down, it's not as easy as you think! It is known as the integration to complete a Yogi's practice plus the most challenging pose of all because it works on the subtler realms of the mind and the nervous system.
On 1st September we are half-way with our ‘IT'S TIME TO RISE, to Morning Yoga’ motivation challenge. Congratulations to many of our disciplined Yogis getting to their regular 6am weekday & 7.30am Saturday, 7.30am & 9.00am Sunday classes - well done! We will announce the prize winner on 5th October.
