Melody's mat is the place were she can feel at home with herself.
After her third child at age 29 Melody was diagnosed with an auto immune disease called Graves Disease, she suffered many side affects including anxiety and depression and weakness throughout the whole body.
Melody found that it was on her mat she was able to sit with her illness and work through the problems that would arise, finding her strength mentally and physically on and off the mat.
She was told that she would never get better and Melody would be on medication for the rest of her life.
With her regular yoga practice and lifestyle change Melody was able to work through the illness within 2 years of being diagnosed she was back to regular blood results and now it has been 8 years and she has no antibodies of Graves Disease to be shown and her levels have all returned and remained at normal levels.
Melody believes Yoga is for everybody, she was first introduced to Yoga by her Grandmother when she was a small child.
Her Grandmother would show her all of the poses she was learning in class this inspired Melody in so many ways.
Melody has a passion for her practice loving both Vinyasa and Yin yoga believing balance is very important in a yoga practice.
Melody loves teaching and passing on the knowledge of yoga, she has a husband, three beautiful kids two cats and one dog. And two fish! She has a love for animals especially loves bird watching and loves adventure, finding new places to go.
She loves poetry and music and reading books and learning new things and meeting new people. Connection is so important in our daily life. Through yoga you can connect to yourself and to others and to mother earth.
