Welcome to Body Awakenings, my name is Rachael Farrelly and I am passionate about providing a space and practice where every person that visits this studio feels welcome and supported. I hope that your experience with us is one in which you can learn more about building a state of health and well-being through breath focus techniques, mindfulness and the physical practice of yoga. I believe yoga is for every body type, age and level of fitness. Beginners can attend all our classes as our experienced teaching can provide modifications for each student in our small group setting. We frequently hold beginners workshops and can notify you of the next date.

On a personal life journey I gave up my job in the corporate world, deciding to take some time out for me, find myself and what I wanted to do with my life. I travelled to Hawaii with the first intention of doing what I loved the most, surfing. During this time, I had an epiphany, after a yoga class and lying in Savasana under a Banyan tree at Sunset, with the breeze brushing my cheek and the lights of sun glimmering through my closed eyelids. It was then I decided I would become a yoga teacher and try and reciprocate that feeling of practicing outdoors in our amazing nature. I arrived in Sydney months later and attended the 200 hour teacher training course at Hot Yogi Australia, which I truly recommend to anybody to do. It is a life changing experience. Yoga has become my true refuge and saviour as I find apart from a physical practice it teaches us to connect within and believe in our true and unique selves. I teach a strong and fluid practice also focusing on correcting body alignment in poses to reverse the repetitive and unnatural positions we constantly put our bodies through be it for work or the busy lives we lead.
